Mrs. Koonlaba from Tupelo MS is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need one Junior Artist Cray-pas colorpack pastel set, Crayola construction paper, one Big Kids Set of Flat Brushes, and six tagboards.

Da Vinci's sculptures need to be painted. We need paint brushes. Frida Kahlo's portraits need a base. We need paper. Cezanne's still-lifes need color. We need oil pastels. Guy Harvey's Ocean Animals need patterns. We need crayons.
My students are learning in a school environment very in tune with the arts.
In fact, we are considered a Whole School. As a Whole School, my students get instruction in the arts from certified arts teachers and then get to participate in arts integrated lessons in their regular classrooms. Its amazing. I wish you could come visit. I strive to provide high-quality visual arts instruction to my students because I believe art is important for it's own sake, but also so that they can better learn their regular education curriculum. We need basic art supplies to accomplish these goals.
My third graders will create a Guy Harvey-style ocean animal and we need Junior Artist Cray-pas colorpack pastel set to add details to that piece. In addition, my second graders will be able to use the crayons for a Gustav Klimt piece they will create. My fifth graders need paintbrushes to paint sculptures based on Da Vinci's Horses. My third and fourth graders need oil pastels to create a Cezanne work and to explore Walt Disney as an artist. All our projects will use the tagboards and construction paper.
These DonorsChoose.org supplies will improve my classroom because with my limiting funding I am not able to obtain the variety and amount of art materials needed for these type of projects.
We do have funding for our other projects, but these projects are ways that I am trying to enrich the visual arts for my students. This is a very small investment considering that I teach almost six hundred students.
