This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am teaching a 4th and 5th grade combo class at a small neighborhood elementary school. The students come from a tight-knit community and our school is much loved by students and parents alike.
These students have the biggest hearts and such a passion for learning.
They thrive with hands-on and experiential learning and overcome obstacles in their personal and academic lives everyday. They are a group of strong and persevering humans.
My Project
Students will use different types of paint, both acrylic and watercolor, during skill learning and project creating. They will also have brushes and plastic paint palettes to learn how to mix their own colors.
Each piece of art will focus on a different element and style of art.
There will be a variety of projects throughout the year, such as a gradient of tints and shades, a color wheel, and pieces that incorporate different color schemes such as complimentary.
In addition to learning painting skills, we will also study art history & look at the styles of different artists and analyze how art contributes to society.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
