My students will get an opportunity to experience authentic exploration of the natural world, such as identifying local plant and animal relationships, ecology, and human impact on the environment. They will be surrounded by nature, in a "classroom" made of soaring redwoods and pond banks, having the chance to fall in love with the beauty and freedom of a dirt hiking trail. These experiences will inspire them to become conscientious stewards and guardians of Earth's natural resources. They will connect with each other and themselves during their last year of elementary school, making an investment in the childlike wonder that will ground them and build a foundation of true character as they prepare for the challenges of middle school.
