My students need colored pencils, markers, and paper to bring their art to life!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Den Hartog's classroom raised $460
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have an awesome group of 3rd graders! They are part of the reason why Compton, CA is on the way to a positive future.
One of the things that makes my students so fantastic is their diversity, not only racially, but in their home life experiences as well.
Several of my students live with their grandparents, I have 5 students in foster care, and a few students have a parent in jail. Despite the many issues they face, these kids amaze me daily with their resilience and optimism!
My Project
Children need art in their lives! I have wanted to bring art into my classroom, but haven't had the supplies I would want to use. Having these supplies will help broaden my students' horizons by bringing their artwork to life.
We will be using the pencils, markers, and paper to follow art lessons designed for students on the internet.
There are so many excellent resources to introduce the visual arts to my students. Plus, research shows that students who are exposed to art will do better in other academic areas. What better way to improve comprehension and critical thinking skills than by having fun at the same time?
Nearly all students from low‑income households
