Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I find that it is natural for students to make music and create masterpieces of art on their own. However, with budget cuts in the district, it is often frustrating when we cannot find the resources to support our students' interests.
Just like a typical public school in Los Angeles, California, my Pre-K students come from a very diverse group of families and backgrounds.
This diversity provides for a better learning environment in the classroom as they learn about each others' differences.
My Project
For this project I am requesting Wheat & Gluten-Free Dough, Lakeshore Dough Cutters Bucket, Nylon-Bristle Paintbrushes, Wooden Rolling Pins, Paint Cup Carrier, Heavy-Duty Vinyl Paint Apron, No-Spill Paint Cups, Dough Scissors, a Dough Tool Set, Shake, Rattle & Rock CD, and Kids in Action and Kids in Motion CDs.
My students' differences is an asset to everyone in the classroom because they are able to learn from one another. Their creativity is manifested through music and visual arts where they are encouraged to make their own masterpieces as well as appreciate each other's creations. The CDs will give music for my students to move.
With the new art supplies and music, they will be motivated to perform and create art beyond their wildest imaginations!
The best time to have children start thinking out of the box and encouraging them to appreciate art is now, while they are young. As a result, we hope that their love for music and the arts will grow until adulthood.
