This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My early learners will design, measure, build, make observations, and identify objects to tickle the investigator in us all!
All of my wonderful students live in Detroit.
Our class is made up of various ethnic and family structures and all come from low economic backgrounds. Our school is the pillar of the community. Here, there is something for everyone. From Technology Club to Garden Club the teachers here insure that when students leave for high school they have a well-rounded education.
My Project
My young scientist will conduct experiments with measuring, building, making observations, and identifying objects to expand their learning. Artists mold, mesh, sculpt, paint, and design, all of which are part of Michigan's Common Core Science principles. Whether we will sculpt a robot, create musical instruments, design a running water wall, or dabble with various paints the human brain will be connected through critical thinking and creative design.
A water play set, paper, paint, modeling foam and moon sand will foster the development of my students STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) skills for success in the classroom and in the future!
