My Project
In our rural school, art is combined with STEM class as an activity students experience once per six week rotation. I find there is a great need for more varied and frequent opportunities to incorporate art into my project-based learning approach. Artistic expression of understanding to support and demonstrate students’ comprehension is the goal, these texts the catalyst for informed integration.
Texts included in this project are written with kids in mind as they make connections on topics such as art history, the evolution of various art styles, and outlets for students to express themselves in new, creative ways.
Art history is a student need I wish to meet through these texts. I have chosen a variety of artists spanning many ethnicities to promote representation and awareness of diverse, cultural impacts on art.
