My Students

I am seeking. I am striving. I am in it with all my heart. ~Vincent van Gogh My students passion for the process of creating art has grown. They now demonstrate the focus and appropriate behavioral skills needed for advanced instruction.

This is my second year at an urban, high-poverty area in Indianapolis and my students have limited exposure to art materials.

Having a variety of tools to choose from, will assist my students in cultivating their creativity and express themselves in a more positive manner.

My Project

My goal is to teach my pupils to experiment, discover and produce quality art work. The necessary art supplies are needed in order to achieve this goal. They will practice the art concept of texture, by using the rubbing stencils to produce various designs. In addition, students will combine glitter, feathers, fuzzy stems and pom-poms for a spectacular collage.

This project will provide enjoyable and satisfying experiences for young children, but it is not merely a fun activity.

It provides valuable hands-on, active-learning experiences and supports children's growth and learning in many domains.
