My Project

My students worked hard all year to improve their informal, narrative, and argument writing. They are proud of their learning. Let’s create an opportunity for an authentic assessment. My diverse classroom population includes English language learners and students with special needs.

For an end of year reflection, I would like to give my students the opportunity to create illustrations, graphics, and other visuals to based on their reflection of learning demonstrated in pieces of their writing.

They need the artistic tools to recreate the sensory details they included, the graphics for the textual structure they argued, and figurative language they created.

This opportunity to illustrate will allow students to review their yearly progress and apply their literacy strategies to their own writing.
