My Students
I am lucky to work with my group of 20 students. Their unique personalities create a classroom that thrives on honesty, hard work, and compassion for others. Each and every day I have students who go above and beyond to show how they are making a positive impact on this world, just by being themselves. I have students who will hold the door for 100 other students exiting or entering the building at a busy lunchtime passing. I have students who say a genuine "thank you" each time I hand a paper to them. Other students show their compassion by encouraging someone a little extra if they notice they are struggling.
My students have some of the kindest hearts I have ever met.
I would love for them to have access to materials that will help us experience unforgettable lessons, so that they may take their knowledge of 4th grade and allow it to guide them into a thriving future! Having access to hands-on, engaging, and unique materials will help them be one step closer to a bright future. Thank you for your consideration in donating to these future leaders.
My Project
My project will help provide a rich learning environment by helping to support students’ social-emotional needs. I will use the tools I have requested by integrating art into various Literacy content areas. Students will use art to describe in depth a character, setting, or event in a story or drama, drawing on specific details in the text (e.g., a character’s thoughts, words, or actions) (ELA RL.4.3). Students will also make connections between the text of a story or drama and a visual or oral presentation of the text, identifying where each version reflects specific descriptions and directions in the text (ELA RL.4.7). The resources I'm requesting will help my students through more than a year of pandemic learning.
