Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second grade students are smart, amazing and hard working. They have a thirst for learning and are always looking for ways to enhance their learning. They enjoy setting their own learning goals and achieving those goals.
My students love to learn, read, and create.
I teach a 2nd grade classroom with 7 boys and 14 girls whose parents do not have the financial resources to provide them with additional school supplies.
My Project
Covid-19 has affected our teaching drastically. We are now bound to teaching through Zoom. Art is as important to teach as math and reading. What would be an easy lesson in the classroom has now become difficult because the students do not have the materials.
Art has the power to transform, to illuminate, to educate, inspire, and motivate.
My students need basic art supplies: watercolors, oil pastels, colored pencils, crayons, and drawing paper. This will allow for me to teach an effective art lesson through Zoom because the students will have the necessary materials.
