it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Music is an art form that is ever evolving. In the 21st century, technology has taken an integral role in the creation of all facets of art.
In recent years, technology has played a vital role in education, and with technology already an essential part of music creation, Music Education through Technology has Arrived.
With a new MacBook Pro for the classroom, students in my music composition class will be able to import their musical artwork and further develop their creations with professional software.
Being able to connect with students in a manner in which they can relate to will have a huge impact on their learning. The new classroom MacBook Pro will also allow me to teach students how to use plugins, loops, filters, and manage track counts that they lack on their basic school computers. It will serve as a hub for students to sit behind the virtual mixing board and develop their musical ears and tastes. Without the lag, students can have a smoother workflow on their projects, and will be able to operate different DAWS simultaneously to understand differences in workflow and develop autonomy and preference. Students will also be able to create high quality and interactive videos through the use of video editing software, and learn to integrate the audio with video.
Students will be able to acquire skills they will need to create music, and they will be able to view different methods in which music can be created and enhanced. It will foster socialization, creativity, engagement, and efficiency, further develop competency in music, and address the social/emotional challenges students face today, through collaboration, creativity, and engagement.
As my students prepare for their composer's concert, the MacBook Pro for the classroom will help them to polish their music creation.
