My Project

My students crave art. We love doing different kinds of art that is related to our learning—for example, painting the "eye" of the storm during our natural disaster unit. Beads also help us during our math pattern units!

But my students' FAVORITE kind of art is open-ended projects.

They thrive when they can see supplies in front of them and they can create whatever is in their head. These art supplies will be used to create masterpieces! Many of these students do not have opportunities at home to create.

I (and many others) believe it is essential for students to have creative outlets to express themselves, especially when they work incredibly hard on reading, writing, and math for 7 hours a day.

One project I am looking forward to is a lesson on abstract art! Additionally, the clay in this project will be used to create various animals for an animal research speech. These supplies will help make this dream a reality.
