My Project

There is currently no art teacher in the school. I am requesting art supplies such as paints, rainmaker kits, markers, paint brushes, river rocks and other items that I can use for various art projects. I enjoy teaching the children about various cultures and art related to those cultures such as origami, dream catchers and rain sticks. I have been doing groups that mix art with therapy. I have gotten much positive feedback from the kids after groups stating how fun it was and that they are glad there are other subjects available to them. My goal is to create a space for the children to relax and build their artistic skills. I want to expose creative ways that combine learning with art. My plan to to continue to do semi-monthly groups as well as continue to provide 1:1 therapy. The students at Dossin are so special to me. It warms my heart to see them engaged and appreciative. Many students often ask "are we doing another group?" with excitement so I want to keep this spirit going.
