Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at our school are hardworking individuals who are curious about the world and excited about the future. They are English learners from diverse backgrounds. They want to learn about the world and others who they share it with.
The students in my class are eager to share their life experiences.
They love playing games, reading books and creating projects that help them engage with the classroom content. It's a joyful group of kids discovering all the world has to offer.
My Project
Our schools is developing a program to reduce student stress and escalation at school. We would like to start having art therapy tools accessible to students who are in need.
The kinetic sand and gel beads are great art therapy tools for students.
These tools will allow them to sculpt and create while deescalating from stressful situations.
Students will have access to these tools in the Resource/Wellness Center. The center is open throughout the schools day and they are able to come in and find ways to reflect, calm down, and build strategies to help them grow. Having kinetic art tools can help student achieve this.
