Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am an MSW intern at our elementary school and I provide social emotional learning support to the students in K-5th grade. We provide a safe space in our office for students to be able to check-in and talk to the interns and social workers. While building rapport with students, art is used as an intervention to be able to help the students express themselves. The students are able to keep the art they complete and sometimes get very excited to show their art to their family. Unfortunately, we are running low in materials and our kids would really benefit from getting more supplies (canvas, paint, brushes). Thank you in advance for helping us achieve this goal!
