Our virtual learning school year has gotten off to a great start! My 3rd graders are amazing kids. They have been logging into Zoom every day, participate in new lessons, and are game for this whole new world of school.
This project will provide students with take home art supplies and a mini notebook to record inspirations.
With so much time spent in front of a screen, students need school materials that further their learning but don't require more screen time.
We are an urban school that celebrates diversity. Our student population includes a mix of African American, Latino, and Asian Pacific Islander students. We serve English Language Learners, support special needs through inclusion, and provide strong social-emotional support to all students. Additionally, over 75% of the students attending our school qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
I would love to continue to teach art next trimester when my students no longer have access to the district art teacher. We rotate with other classes, and next trimester we don't have an art teacher. My students love art!
Being at home can be challenging, especially with all classes on Zoom.
I wanted to provide my students with art supplies so I can teach them new techniques to inspire them to keep being creative at home!
Each child will receive a watercolor set, brush, and paper. Students will also get tissue paper to create another art project. Lastly, I included a mini notebook for students to use to take notes in science and get ideas for art and writing!
