Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Title One STEAM and Social Justice magnet emphasizes the respect of self and others. Our pedagogy includes discipline and high expectations, as well as activism and compassion. Our African-American students share the school with Latino children and a few Asian kids. This mix offers unlimited opportunities to learn tolerance and teamwork while discovering new perspectives.

Even though we are in distance learning, students will not only be trained to be problem-solvers but will also consider how their solutions affect the environment and all members of society, here and abroad.

However, our school and our families can't afford the additional resources we need to support independent learning in a digital world and significantly improve student achievement. Thank you for helping our kids become successful, responsible, and productive citizens!

My Project

Thanks to your generous donations, all my students would receive a paint set, a color pencil set, a sharpener, a pair of scissors, and a drawing pad in a paper bag that I'll organize with the help of my assistant. Families will pick them up from school and bring them home to our excited students!

Luckily, kids absolutely love art which not only supports their appreciation of the world, but the observation skills they need in all sciences.

With your kind support, I would be able to teach them how to sketch, one step at a time, and convince them that everyone can draw if we practice. They would be able to explore lines and shapes; to mix colors to create new ones; finally, they would be able to show what they completed and feel all warm inside as we would cheer their art.

What a break from the screens it would be! I thank you in advance for your participation!
