This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Union Hill elementary school serves a multicultural community in an urban neighbourhood of Worcester, MA. Our children are eager to learn, express, and experiment with various media in visual art like markers and construction paper. Unfortunately, art education is subject to cuts in the budget.

Some kids told me that they do not have supplies at home.

For this reason, art time needs to be valued more than ever in the classroom. Art education provides the chance for those kids to develop visual communication skills and learn that mistakes are part of the learning process. Students build their self-esteem through creative projects displayed on cork boards.
