Art Supplies for Students During Covid-19 Lockdown
Help me give my students and families activities to continue learning while they are homebound during Covid-19. May of our families struggle to provide supplies to support remote learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school serves 913 students ages 4-14 in grades ECE4-8th in the Montbello neighborhood of Denver. Our student population includes 91% FRL, 97.5% minority, 69.7% English Language Learners, and 9% Special Education students. Our demographics also included 76% Hispanic students, 13% African American, 2.5% White, 6% Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 2% who identify as other ethnic backgrounds
Our learners truly are our future, and they deserve a community school that are created and sustained within our community so that when they graduate, not only are they successful academically, but they are also strong, empowered, and proud contributing members of the community.
Our school's educational philosophy centers around prioritizing and balancing systems, structures, and practices that honor the academic, linguistic, whole-child, arts, and social skills learners need to succeed in secondary school, college, and careers to be become change-makers in the community. Under this premise, our theory of action is grounded in the empowerment of our students, families, staff, and the surrounding community.
My Project
Many of our families are not able to afford these supplies for their children. Due to the chaotic nature of school closure and the extended timeline, we were not able to provide families with these resources the last time we saw them.
We want to provide families with supplies that will support remote learning and will entertain children of all ages living together during this difficult time.
The hope is to provide families with items they can all use to learn and express themselves while they are out of school.
