My Students

I teach at a magnet school in Connecticut. We serve students from many towns surrounding the Hartford Area. Every day our students come from many different places and many different circumstances but they are all ready to learn! They are eager to learn and work together each day.

Many of our students do not have the same educational opportunities as their peers.

As a school, we strive to provide well-rounded experiences for our students to help them become global citizens.

My Project

As the teacher of social emotional learning and equity we are often learning about ourselves and the world around us. To do this well students need materials to express themselves and to show their learning. These art materials will be used when students are sharing about themselves or other cultures. For example we will use the card stock for making quilts. This would be after a unit about freedom quilts and how they were used to help enslaved peoples reach freedom. These supplies will be essential in helping students share their learning.
