Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm really excited to bring arts and sciences together with these supplies. I have so many ideas for both biology and Human Anatomy.

In Human Anatomy, I'd like students to use the fabric paint, t-shirts and aprons to make models of the human body systems.

I think making something wearable will inspire a lot of students to draw the systems anatomically correct and put a lot of effort into their designs. I also want students to have their own mini skeleton model so that we can use clay to add different body systems and label them during the course. The yarn is for measuring the length of the digestive system and adding to the life sized paper models that they already made in class.

For biology, I can see students using the Styrofoam balls to make models of cells with all of the organelles labeled. Also, the blacklight paint and painting supplies will be used for biology and marine biology to make models of fluorescent proteins and animals that use bioluminescence.
