My students come from a varied background, many from military families and some that have never taken art before. We are fortunate to have art as a resource and be able to expose these children to all that art offers.
The art room is a place they can explore, learn, and create.
The children learn various techniques such as drawing, painting, printmaking, and 3D work, experiment with different mediums, incorporate different styles, and explore art history. I hope they leave my room inspired and eager to create more art!
My Project
We have three and four year old pre-k classes for art this year. These little ones need supplies that they can easily grasp and hold. The tempera sticks are perfect for them! They can use them to paint and color. They dry almost instantly and are easy for young students to control.
Bingo daubbers are great for so many uses!
They can be filled with paint or glue. They are perfect for painting/filling in large spaces, creating thick lines and for drawing lines and shapes. When filled with glue it prevents little ones from using too much.
The no-spill paint containers are also terrific for this age. They can see the color of paint though the container, the brush is easy to dip and load with paint and the lid prevents spills from happening.
Play Dough is used for working on motor skills, learning about colors by mixing them and for creating 3-D projects.
