This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Often school can be very limiting to artistic students. In my Language Arts class, I value good writing and analytical reading, but I often overlook my artistic students. My classes are filled with some of the most creative students. I have seen them create some of the most creative and inspirational pieces of art. I have seen these students think creatively and critically through their art. With your help, I would like to bring their creativity into the English classroom.

My students will use the art materials that I am requesting, such as, posters, markers, pencils, and glitter to creatively and artistically interpret and respond to literature.

Due to the fact that they live in a very urban setting, they are exposed to art, in its many forms, every day. My students are very artistic and creative in their thought process, and I want to give them a chance to use their creative skills in my classroom. I want them to take scenes from stories and bring them to life using their creative abilities.

This project will really help my students who have different learning styles express their knowledge of the literature that we study in class.

It will allow them to incorporate what they love, art, into their everyday learning process.
