Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a 3 Pre-Kindergarten teacher in a low-income public school in the Bronx. My class is filled with 15 vibrant, eager learners. My students needs are important for me. My students are bright and enthusiastic students ready to learn. My class is located in a low income area.
My students are bright and very dedicated students.
My students need real life experiences in order to make real life connections. I will like to provide that exposure for them. I want to get them ready for the future. I try to provide my students with whatever I can give them. Students tend to have embedded in their memory exciting experiences from school. I want my students to have the experience of coding with a robot in school. I want to shape their lives and careers through STEM.
My Project
Our project needs support form amazing supporters as yourself. My students are learning a lot through the tools they have in the class, but sadly we have limited resources available for them. I would like to provide my students with more access to art supplies to create projects based on their expressions and to empower them. With the use of art supplies, aprons, newborn dolls, craft sticks, craft scissors, pom pom, and etc to learn through creative play and thinking. My students three year old program is based on the involvement of children, staff, and parents in the learning experience. Our three year olds are given challenging activities designed for cognitive, social, and physical growth and development. Multi-sensory learning activities.
Structured learning designed for emotional development.
Free and creative play time that teaches cooperation, self discovery, self help and social development. Small and large group activities that evaluate individual and group interactions. “Preschoolers also learn about their world by forming visual pictures — or little movies in their heads,” notes Diane Levin, Ph.D. “Each thought they’re thinking is like a frame of the movie. They construct these visual movies in their minds as they play. In addition to this I am requesting baby dolls so students can learn see themselves in different toys using cultural relevant instructions in the class to make a connection to school instruction and their real life experiences.
In addition to this I am requesting a laminator and laminating sheets to keep their work protected and laminated to empower them as learners.
