I teach in the school library in a PreK-8 public school. A wide variety of students visit the library daily, including general education students, special education students, gifted & talented students, and English language learners.
My students enjoy completing literacy activities in the library as well as borrowing books to read.
All of the classes that visit the library share communal supplies of pencils, colored pencils and crayons to write and illustrate their classwork.
With hundreds of students using the library space each week, it can be a challenge to keep up with the kids' demand for writing and coloring supplies as materials are used up throughout the year. That is why for this project I am requesting additional paper and supplies that will help students keep demonstrating their learning through responses to literature, and clear book bins to help organize some of their favorite series books so popular titles are easier to find.
