Art Supplies and Books for an Elementary School in Hawai'i!

Help me give my students the opportunity to experience the joy of making art with quality materials and books about famous artists.

My Project

KES is a Title I school in the rural district of South Kona, Hawai'i and the Art Program serves all 550 students! Konawaena has 9 Inclusion classrooms with students with special needs; all of these students not only get to take Art, but often shine in this subject.

I'm in need of quality art materials that are easy to use within a 45 minute time frame, including watercolor crayons and paper, gel crayons, and black mixed media paper for collage.

I'm also building a classroom library featuring famous artists for storytimes and inspiration.

Students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade create art folders, or portfolios, that contain their artwork for the quarter; gel crayons are perfect for decorating the portfolios. Being in Hawai'i, art projects are based on our surroundings: Making Humuhumunukunukuapua'a (or the Hawaiian Reef Trigger Fish) with watercolors and printmaking projects on black paper using kapa patterns. We are so excited to make all kinds of educational and fun projects with these materials. Art is life!
