Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are developing the Arts side of our STEAM classes this year. We have been limited on materials to crayons, pencils and construction paper.
I want to give our students the opportunity for more artistic experiences.
Painting with tempera paint, both liquid and in cakes, gives them the chance to mix their own colors and make discoveries through their art. Scratchboard is a great medium for teaching value without any mess and teaches the kids to think reversely about black to white creations. Chalk pastel blending is soothing and beautiful.
Our students deserve to have quality art supplies and authentic artistic experiences.
