Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from all over the district. We are a public school, where parents put their children on the waitlist at four years old to go through the school's lottery. We are a school of choice. We are a high performing school, where parent participation is strongly encouraged. Parent support is key to my students' success. We do not receive federal funding. We have to fundraise for anything extra. Common Core Standards are implemented daily, with a lack of materials. It would be great to get more materials.
My Project
Our class needs art supplies for art centers. We need paint and paper, fun posters, stickers, cardboard, and punch cards for STEAM centers.
Supplies are needed for Art time and STEAM centers! Without paint and paper, students can’t make design artwork! Funding at school is limited for basic supplies, especially for art and students love art!
Our class would benefit from multiple art supplies, construction paper, posters, stickers, and tagboard to create and design and engineer ideas during STEAM centers. Art is an important part of the day for students and having multiple supplies for students to use and create gives students opportunities to become true artists!
