Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I’m a relatively new art teacher at a vibrant Title 1 school, and I’m passionate about building a strong, inspiring art program for my students. Right now, they’ve only had one art show, but that one moment of recognition made a huge impact. Displaying their work in a professional, gallery-style way helps them see themselves as real artists and shows them that art is a legitimate and exciting career path.
With our own privacy panels, I could host multiple art shows throughout the year and give more students the opportunity to share their creativity.
Currently, I have to borrow display panels from the district, which limits how often I can showcase their work. These panels would elevate our displays and give students the recognition they deserve.
