This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine taking a virtual tour of The National Gallery of Art or The Louvre Museum from the classroom. The Internet opens up a world of learning opportunities and experiences for students, especially with an LCD projector to enlarge images and a sound box to broadcast sound.
My students are from an urban school with high poverty .
They seldom have an opportunity to travel outside the city in which they live. Budget cuts and hard economic times have cut museum field trips from the curriculum. However like all children they are highly engaged in visual media.
My Project
An LCD Projector will allow students the opportunity to see examples of art , watch teacher made power points, view streaming videos related to content, post daily objectives and project instructions as it stimulates students engagement in lessons. This projector along with the speaker will open up a world of visual and auditory stimulation to the students. The classroom is already equipped with a mounted Smart Board, but 7 teachers are sharing 1 LCD projector. Having access to an LCD Projector 100% of the time will insure that all students are getting quality instruction.
This LCD Projector will have a huge impact on the quality of lessons taught in my Art Room.
It is important to provide students will lessons that are engaging and relevant, the LCD projector and Soundbox will make the art room a 21st century classroom.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
