This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Art room is an escape from the traditional. Most times, my students want to make things for fun - no grades, no assessments, just playing. My students recently requested a classroom camera to document their experience in classes, and to photograph their artwork for Portfolios. They have also been looking forward to making slime just for fun during the last few days of the semester. I've never done it, so here we go! I'm going to teach myself how to make slime so I can show them how to do it.

These teens grow up too fast!

I hope to inspire them to connect with their inner child. By filling the art classroom with playful materials that go beyond "traditional fine arts", I hope to inspire these young people to never stop playing and making just for the sake of joy.
