Our art students come from a variety of socioeconomic, cultural, and artistic backgrounds. Some of our students come to us and have never created art. I work hard to incorporate art creation, aesthetics, art history, and art criticism into my students' lessons and make it my personal goal for these kids to enjoy walking into the art room to create! In our art room, we make connections to the core areas (math, reading, social studies, science and writing) so students see that art connects to many parts of our lives.
Our art students are always creating, doodling, drawing, sculpting, folding, carving, critiquing, analyzing, comparing and learning!
We are a busy classroom!
My Project
As we head in to the 21-22 school year, I want to make sure my art students have the supplies they need to be successful. Last year we started requiring students to have their own colored pencils for art class. While we began this because of sanitary reasons, it is something that worked so well, we'd like it to continue! Students were more responsible about supply care, clean up and keeping track of their own supplies. Our current supply of colored pencils and pencils is running low!
We need to restock so I can continue to supply more families and students with the materials they need for a successful art experience!
While we do have these items on student supply lists, many of our students are unable to provide basic supplies. Colored pencils and pencils will be distributed to students who are unable to provide them. Can you help me provide my students with essential art supplies so they can stay engaged and on top of our lessons?
