This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help make drawing exciting for my students. Using manipulative's in a classroom always excites the children.
My students come from a poverty stricken community with little recreation areas.
Their only escape from reality is in school. Some of our students are faced with daily peer pressure to join gangs. Unfortunately, since they don't have much to do elsewhere, they are drawn into that life of violence and crime.
My Project
I am requesting hand models for my students to observe while learning to draw. I usually have the students draw hand poses from life, but I came across they hand models. I believe these would work much better for my special education students who have attention deficit disorder and have difficulty remaining still for long periods of time. My project will help my special needs students to relax and focus on an actual object rather than trying to force them to remain still. My students love to work with manipulatives.
