My Project

Making an art portfolio each school year is one of the highlights in my elementary art classes. The Paper Grocery Bags with handles are sturdy to last all school year, and Kwik Stix Solid Tempera Paint Sticks are fun materials that students love to use and see the bright, vibrant colors they present. I like to use the opportunity to teach about Pop Art and the artists who made the art movement so fun and useful. This year, our art show theme will be all about Pop Art.

The Kwik Stix Solid Tempera Paint is especially a wonderful medium for my elementary art students' first days because the paint dries in 90 seconds or less and can be layered to create personalized designs.

When applied to any type of paper, the colors perfectly POP to give the students the big WOW factor! Using the Paper Grocery Bags with Handles makes it easy for students first day of art to create a fun and simple, yet functional, art piece that they will take home at the end of the school year filled with art they created all year.

In addition, making and maintaining an art portfolio allows us to curate an exciting Pop Art-themed art show by allowing students to self-evaluate their work and select a piece to contribute to the show. A Pop Art-themed art portfolio will keep the inspiration alive as students create art and place it into their portfolios. Art really is everywhere, and students will be able to create, present, reflect, respond, and make connections through this project.
