Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 2nd and 3rd graders are energetic and enthusiastic learners. They have a thirst for knowledge, which keeps me motivated everyday. My students attend an inner-city school with a high poverty rate. They continue to attend class on time and stay motivated to learn.
My Project
I am a beginning teacher who just started his first school year. Due to the pandemic, I must teach from home. My students all need a dedicated “Writer’s Notebook” to just write creatively. The Writer’s Notebook will also allow my students to practice strategies taught during distance learning. With the notebooks, my students will be able to have a place to just experiment and take risks as creative writers.
Due to the pandemic, Art is a content area that the students really miss out on.
The sketch pads will allow my students to improve on their fine motor skills. We spent a lot of time learning the main content areas, but my students need some opportunities to just have fun and be creative. With the sketch pads, I will be able to do some art lessons and my students will be able to create their own artwork.
