My Students
"Good Morning Ms. G!" "How are you?" "What are we going to learn about today?" This is some of the morning cheer and smiles that I am fortunate to hear from my students. I work with creative and enthusiastic fifth grade students. Our school is a Title I school with all students receiving free lunch.
My students come from diverse backgrounds with many challenges socially, emotionally, and financially.
Even with these challenges, my students come to school with a smile on their faces, eager to learn and ready for the rigor of the school day. Everyday I look forward to coming to school to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which my students can thrive.
My Project
Students need a voice and sometimes it's through their own creations and ideas that they are able to truly shine. Having an art class will be new this upcoming year and I would like to provide my students with many opportunities to explore art in different historical periods and mediums. These magazines will allow students to view beautiful art reproductions as well as read captivating art history articles about artists around the world. Visual art helps students grasp ideas in ways sometimes words may not. Students will be able to freely create and learn art through visuals, videos, and technology.
