I am excited to be providing educational experiences to at-risk four and five year-old children in a free pre-kindergarten classroom. These kiddos are creative, curious, and eager to learn. Many of our students are overcoming odds, as all of our students come from low-income households, and many come from traumatic backgrounds.
We strive to provide opportunities that our at-risk students may not otherwise have, or be able to enjoy.
We are eager to create life-long learners, through thoughtful instruction, and materials, both in our indoor and outdoor classrooms.
My Project
The children in our class are working super hard to learn and recognize their ABCs. The ones who know the uppercase and lowercase letters are working on recognizing sight words. They would love to learn to read this year. In order to do this, we need art materials and manipulatives, like unifix cubes and wax sticks to help make learning games!
By assisting in the funding of this project, you are allowing our at-risk students not only to learn to recognize letters and sight words, but also to be creative by providing much needed art materials and manipulatives for them to create their own games to play.
We love to learn through play. The only thing better than playing games is playing games that we've created!
