Help me give my students art materials to explore animals and their habitats!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Garcia's classroom raised $354

My Students
My students are a diverse group of third graders, including English language learners. We are part of a large Title I public school in Brooklyn, NY, where many of the students are at-risk and/or come from low-income families.
As a community, we work together to provide the best educational experience for our students.
Through their motivation, hard work and the love and respect they display for themselves and others, they grow as scholars and members of society each and every day.
My Project
Students in 3rd grade dive deep into understanding how animals adapt to their habitats. This project will help provide us with the opportunity to use art to strengthen this understanding!
Children often show higher engagement with concepts when they are provided with different means of learning.
These materials will help spark learning visually and tactically. Students will have the opportunity to create sculptures that display specific animals and their adaptations, as well as create watercolor backgrounds of their animal's habitat.
Funding this project will allow students to be creative! We only experience art as a subject once a week. It is my hope to change that!
