My Students

To my students, math is the most dreadful subject, completing problems after problems. This year I want to liven it up by creating fun, exhilarating and engaging math lessons that my right and left brain students can appreciate.

My students attend a diverse school in Atlanta, GA.

The students in my class are full of great ideas, and great answers. They are in need of some resources to help them show their great ideas, resources to challenge them, and resources to keep our classroom running smoothly. My Middle School students are some of the most curious, intelligent, and kind-hearted people in the world. They have a love of learning, and a deep commitment to their education. These amazing students should have access to the resources that are going to help them reach their full potential. They love to explore Math through extension lesson and remediation.

My Project

My students need everyday school supplies to boost their math skills to during whole group instructions and independent practice time. I would love to email my students their projects and homework assignment, which would save trees, but most of my students don't have computers. The copier paper will be used for students to print out their creative math related brochures, cartoons, infographics and booklets displaying their creative talents. The dry erase makers will be used to boost student participation because everyone will have a chance to write an answer, cast their vote, ask a question, rate or rank an item. Everybody knows that math teachers only allow pencils in math; therefore we are in desperate need of pencil sharpeners to last till the end of the year. Yes, we all make mistakes, therefore a broke pencil cannot stop my students’ math progress. The paper cutter will be used to make sure our lines are parallel and perpendicular and flipbook sheets are all the same size.

Yes, these items may seem insignificant to some schools, but these items will mean the world to my students.

This project will allow me, as a teacher, to offer my students multiple ways to show their creativity. We all make mistakes; therefore this project will afford my students multiple times to make the finish work perfect.
