My Students

Update: Our school is set to close permanently at the end of 2021. We are incredibly saddened by this decision but remain hopeful for the future and are appreciative of all donations. Thank you for supporting our students in any way that you can.

My students are eager to experience what it feels like to be an artist, a maker, and a creator.

They are full of dreams and ideas for themselves and want to express their uniqueness in the work they do.

All my students are open to new experiences and aren’t afraid to take creative risks. The only thing that is holding them back is the lack of resources and supplies necessary to make their passions come to life.

Our school is located in the bustling city of downtown Los Angeles. We are surrounded by so much energy, culture, and languages. We are a community that fosters healthy relationships and we strive to support each other as a family would.

My Project

As a student, I can recall fond memories of feeling excited to open up a Scholastic Arts magazine and dive into the extraordinary world of art. As an arts educator, I want to provide my students with the same opportunity that I had to expand art learning through literacy.

A class subscription to the Scholastic Arts magazine will serve as a vital tool in helping students exercise their literacy skills in the arts classroom.

The magazine features articles that are relevant to contemporary issues and that students can engage with.

Along with a project-based curriculum, the subscription will enable students to reinforce their learning and will also serve as a source of inspiration. The magazine highlights exceptionally talented students in every issue and this can motivate students to strive to become better.
