Art Kits to Help Kids Create from Home

Help me give my students the basic art supplies they need to be creative and complete their projects at home during distance learning.

My Students

Resilient, Innovative, Dedicated, Brave--these words come to mind when I think about my 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Located in Wahiawa, Hawaii on Wheeler Army Airfield, our school is home to students from all over the world. They have diverse backgrounds and unique life experiences. Art class provides them with an opportunity to be creative and express their individuality.

Art is essential for the growth and healthy development of a whole and happy child.

In Art class students explore a wide variety of materials and artistic processes such as watercolor painting, pastels, charcoal, crafts, sculpture, painting and more. We learn to take pride in our work and to keep going even when challenged with a difficult project, giving 100% to our artwork.

My Project

This year our school will have a blended schedule and students will spend part of the week working from home. Students often do not have the necessary supplies to complete art projects at home. Receiving funding for this project will help me purchase basic supplies such as markers, color pencils, and watercolor sets to make art kits for my students. These kits will allow students to have access to materials needed to continue working while home.

My goal is to be able to offer kits to every student in art class who is unable to get their own supplies.

By supporting my project you will be making art possible for kids who do not have these important resources. I want my students to be productive and continue creating when they are away from the art room. Art is important more now than ever and I hope to make school positive and meaningful for my students.
