This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are absolutely amazing! They are brilliant, creative, goofy, young people, who are learning and growing so much every day. It is so important that our young learners have access to materials that let them explore their ideas and learn different ways of expressing themselves and communicating. These high-quality art materials will be used during our daily student-directed learning time. This is a time when my students take on projects that they create and that are meaningful to them. Learning to express yourself in multiple ways is foundational to literacy learning.

It is so important that while my students are learning to read and write, they get to apply that learning through art and play - whether that is using collage materials to make a birthday card for their friend, using or creating signs and a menu for their play dough "bakery."

These materials will help me give my students the creative and joyful classroom they deserve. I can't wait to see what they create!
