Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title 1 school. 95% of our students qualify for Free and Reduced-price lunch. With the closing of school, many of our students are without wifi and technology to access online learning. Many of our families have lost their jobs and are struggling to get by.
My Project
Our students are having a hard time keeping up on their learning at home during this challenging time. Many do not have money or the ability to get art supplies. Art is a way for students to have fun and express themselves. We want to give our students an art package so that they can create and learn at home. Teachers are including art into their lessons and these materials will allow all of our students the opportunity to participate. Art can bring joy to our students and their families during this challenging time.
