This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The art supplies will be used to enrich the students experience in my classroom and to encourage innovative thinking. This art project will allow my students to express their thoughts, feelings, and imagination as well as helping them develop their unique voice. With budget cuts affecting the funding of school art programs, this donation is crucial in providing my student with the materials necessary to stimulate their brains in ways beyond the standard curriculum. I believe that art is as important a subject as the others as it allows students to think about things from a different perspective.

The materials being requested will be used for a project tied to a lesson about different American artists.

Drawing inspiration from different North American artists and Latin American artists, students will create artwork that is meaningful to them. The majority of my students are from low income families and may not be exposed to the world of art, so this is a chance to have them engage in an activity that enhances learning. and learning about culturally relevant artists can enrich their educational experience.
