My Project

My students come from one of the highest poverty and crime rate neighborhoods on the South side of Chicago. This is my 8th year as the only certified arts teacher to 700+ students in my school.

Our supplies are very limited, but my students never cease to amaze me with their talent!

They love when their artwork is hung in the hallway and beg to have it included on my monthly bulletin board. Many students experience daily trauma, so on Fridays, I reward students with perfect attendance and positive behavior for the week by letting them pick from the prize box!

Your donation will help provide essential art supplies to create supply bags for each student to use during art class and at home. For many students at my school, financial insecurity presents a challenge when needing to purchase school supplies. Your donation will also provide incentives to be placed inside a prize box that will help motivate my students to do their best each week!
