My 3rd and 4th grade students come from an economically challenged urban area, and they need an opportunity to express themselves through art.
Art comes in many forms. The students in my classroom will be able to create and discover their passion through different techniques of creativity. The more variety in art supplies, the more the students will have an outlet to understand the world.
Central to my teaching philosophy is the idea of exposing children to different perspectives, thus enabling them to have an open view of the world. These art supplies and books will enrich and support that idea. Through creativity and expression, children will have the freedom to broaden their horizons in a comfortable environment.
