This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever been inspired by a book? My first graders are captivated each time I read them a story.

I teach an energetic group of first graders who love to learn and create.

They attend a magnet school in which most are performing above grade level. I try to inspire them to reach their highest potential in every content area to keep them motivated about learning.

My Project

This year, I'd like to begin an artist study unit in which students will learn about various artists and create art pieces inspired by different artists. Therefore, I am requesting books that will teach students about different artists and their techniques. I have also included a few books to teach about character since read aloud stories always captivate students' attention.

I love to read to my students and they love story time.

I try to make time daily to read aloud to them, not only to model fluent reading but to inspire them to reach their highest potential, academically, emotionally, and socially. These read aloud books will truly help me achieve these goals with my students. Thank you for your consideration.
