My Project
In our special education classroom, we believe in nurturing the whole child. “Art in the Park” is a new initiative that brings social-emotional learning, creativity, and mindfulness outdoors, where students can express their feelings through art in a calm, supportive environment.
Picture students seated on a blanket outside on a sunny day, listening to soft music while painting or drawing what emotions feel like.
Through guided art lessons, we’ll help students explore emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction—all while creating something beautiful. Outdoor learning reduces stress, supports sensory needs, and makes space for expression beyond words.
To make this possible, we’re requesting a beach blanket, craft paper, an art cart, watercolor brushes, watercolor paint, Sharpies, Crayola crayons, markers, and colored pencils. These tools will help students connect with their emotions and each other through creative exploration.
Your support will bring calm, joy, and growth to students who thrive when given the chance to learn and express in their own way. Thank you for helping us bring art, heart, and healing into the park.
