This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from various backgrounds and are from low income families. Our school has become a fine arts and performing arts magnet cluster school. I would love to incorporate different forms of art in my classroom.
My students would benefit from digital cameras to help them understand different mathematical concepts.
The cameras will capture the students understanding its mathematical concept using a form of art captured through a digital lens. The pictures would be uploaded and students will discuss what they see and how it applies to math.
My Project
My students would benefit from having digital cameras in the classroom. The digital cameras and memory cards would be used to identify how different mathematical concepts can be applied in the real world.
The digital cameras and memory cards will allow my students to demonstrate their understanding of the mathematical concepts using what they know and applying it to the topics we cover.
They will be able to capture their understanding of a topic and use the pictures as a way to have a discussion with their peers. I believe that they will be more invested in their learning when it applies to the real world and they have different examples to help them visualize.
